2007 UPDATES

Here are some of the projects I have been - and will be - involved with this year.

• My first time leading a group, Nasheet Waits “Equality” featuring Jason Moran, Tarus Mateen and Logan Richardson will appear in Italy this June. Check itinerary for dates.

• Featured in April 07’ Modern Drummer magazine for a “Drummers Roundtable” consisting of Roy Haynes, Chico Hamilton, Jeff “Tain” Watts, Eric McPherson, Marcus Gilmore, and myself.

• My profile was recently added to Drummerworld.com. This is a site where you can find out information from artist bios to set configurations on hundreds of drummers. From Warren “Baby” Dodds to………….

• I recently became a member of the Remo family. I now endorse their drumheads, which I’ve used my entire career. They have some exciting new heads I can’t wait to sample.

• Spring recording of Amir Elsaffar’s “Two Rivers” on PI records. In this group there exists the fusion between elements of the Iraqi Maqam and modern “jazz”. Go to AmirElsaffar.com for more info.
